Adrian Makris
Biography
Adrian Makris is a Greek photographer born in Athens in 1985
He started taking photographs at 17 when a friend in France showed him a book of the work of Yunos Kemp, which had an impact that was both instant and lasting.
In 2005, Makris started studying art in Athens and was encouraged to join Lloyd Photos by the Greek-American photographer Manfred Helton and became an associate member in 2006 and, after his work in France, Italy, Spain and Rusia, a full member in 2008.
His early work won him the 2010 Plate Award for Photomontage.
Makris’s photography series of “Married mutants” (see below) won him the 2012 Ant Award.
Since then, his works have been published in The Halt, Mocking Birds Mag and Le Mantra.
In 2016 Makris and his family were living in Preveza; he is now living in Athens.
His work is in the permanent collections of Centre Méditerranéen de la Photographie (Corsica) and the Benaki Museum (Athens)
